The Facts are Clear – Trump’s Regulations are Harmful + Unlawful and Must Be Blocked from Taking Effect

"The facts in this case are clear – the Trump administration’s Title X regulations are unconstitutional, unlawful, and represent an extreme overreach by the executive branch.

There is no doubt that the regulations will cause imminent and irreparable harm to the millions of patients served by the Title X program across California and throughout the country. If implemented, the regulations will delay access to time-sensitive preventive care like birth control and increase rates of unintended pregnancies. These regulations will disproportionately impact teens, rural areas and communities of color.

That’s why for the first time in our 50 year history, we went to Court today -- to block the regulations from taking effect and stand up for the 1,000,000 low-income patients served through our Title X program in California each year. These regulations were designed to advance a political agenda, not public health.

It’s outrageous that in 2019, the federal government is attempting to deny women the comprehensive information and services they need to make personal decisions about their health.

We are confident that we are on the right side of the law - and history. We look forward to receiving Judge Chen’s decision."
