What will you learn?

State and federal agencies have implemented major policy changes to support a shift toward remote visits to ensure access to care during the COVID-19 public health emergency. This webinar will provide an overview of new Medi-Cal, Family PACT, and Title X policies issued to support the delivery of and payment for family planning and related services through telehealth while stay-at-home orders remain in place. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions and share strategies for implementing telehealth into their family planning practice.

After this live webinar participants will be able to:

  • Describe how recent changes in Family PACT and Medi-Cal telemedicine rules permit the substitution of telephone visits for in-person office visits.
  • List new rules and billing codes for providing family planning services through telehealth.
  • Discuss how consent must be obtained and documented for telemedicine and telephonic visits.
  • Identify when and how telemedicine visits can be performed using non-traditional platforms, including Skype and FaceTime.
