Champions for Change – From Vision to Funded: Building the Future of Equitable Investment in Mission-Driven Work
Essential Access Health and Ethos In Action will co-host a fireside chat to offer a rare, transparent conversation about the funding ecosystem that is both credible and genuinely useful to the people who need it most.

The most important conversations in philanthropy rarely happen in public. They happen between people who already know each other, in rooms that not everyone gets invited into. This session is a deliberate act of openness.
From Vision to Funded is an interrogation of the ecosystem, co-sponsored by Essential Access Health and Ethos in Action. Founded by Julia Dadakaridis with over two decades in nonprofit fundraising and social impact strategy, Ethos in Action partners with organizations to build clarity, connection, and confidence in their fundraising. This session will explore what is working, what is not, and what needs to change on both sides of the table for investment to flow more equitably to the ideas and communities that need it most. Funding strategy has historically lived behind closed doors, in boardrooms, at expensive consultancies, and in networks that not everyone has access to. Too many transformative ideas never get resourced, not because they lack merit, but because the knowledge of how to build something fundable has never been equally accessible. This session rejects that dynamic.
After completing this session, you will be able to:
- Identify at least three characteristics that distinguish a program that is ready for philanthropic investment from one that is not yet there and assess where their own work currently stands..
- Distinguish between applying for grants and building a broader fundraising strategy, and articulate at least one concrete step to strengthen their organization's philanthropic approach.
- Apply at least one practical tool or framework to strengthen the fundability of a program or initiative in their own organization or community context.
- Identify at least two ways the philanthropic ecosystem needs to shift to better support equitable investment in mission-driven work, and articulate what accountability looks on both sides of the funding relationship.
