Webinar Overview:

People experiencing health challenges that are potentially frightening or life threatening may find it hard to take in the information they need to make informed decisions about their diagnosis and to support self-care. This session will focus on techniques for providing trauma informed, patient-centered communication during conversations about abnormal test results, management recommendations, and HPV. Participants will learn strategies for engaging patients in a discussion about an HPV diagnosis or HPV-related disease in ways that provide accurate information in language that is understandable and not fear-inducing. Participants will learn what to include in conversations with patients about treatment options for selected conditions. Special focus will be given to delivering bad news about recurrent disease after prior treatment or an invasive cancer diagnosis.
